The students of Team Hapua will receive regular tasks and challenges to complete at home. These tasks are designed to be enjoyable and beneficial for each child's learning. Often tasks are tailored specifically to each of their needs.
Home reading books will be sent home from Monday to Thursday. Please set some quality time aside to read through and talk to your child about each book. Some of these books will have been seen by the child already with a teacher while some will be new to them. As a parent, you may on occasion, notice a marked difference in their reading confidence due to this.
Similar to reading books, Students will receive a number of spelling words to learn by the end of the week. It would be extremely helpful if you could not only help them to become confident with spelling the words, but using them in a sentence and understanding its meaning.
Sight words and mathematical basic fact cards will be an ongoing task.
We really appreciate your help in working alongside your child and their teachers to making learning fun and developing their ability. A little time in the evenings makes a huge difference.
