Room 8 Writing

Room 8 Variations on the Hat Maker and the MonkeysRoom 8 Variations on the Hat Maker and the Monkeys — by Sonya Harris

This term all students at Isleworth School have been using the Storytelling approach to improve literacy skills.

In Room 8 we have been working on the narrative called the 'Hat Maker and the Monkeys'.  Over the term we have 'Heard, Mapped, Stepped and Spoken' this story.  We have had a lot of fun retelling the story and using activities like hot seating to understand the characters in the story.

Before the end of the term, we are going to look at different plots and types of characters in a story.

Below are our variations on 'The Hat Maker and the Monkeys' storyline.  We had to make a change to the original story by altering the characters, the setting and/or objects in the story.

We hope that you enjoy reading our amazing narratives.
